İstanbul Modern Welcomes Museums From The USA
İstanbul Modern starts a new series of lectures that will enable prominent museum professionals from the USA to meet with the İstanbul audience on a regular basis. MUSEUMS TALK: FROM THE USA proposes a new conversation platform where contemporary museology and museum experience in its broad sense will be mapped out. The history of museology and art institutions in the USA have laid impressions on today’s museum practices and left an impact on the proceedings of cultural institutions all around the world. In this respect, museum directors, curators and department directors from established art museums in the USA will be invited to share their knowledge and experience in İstanbul. Each lecture will have an emphasis on key topics such as museum management, curatorial practices, collections and archives, audience development and public relations, education and social programs, events, local and global marketing and communication strategies, new technologies, re-definition of spaces and museum architecture.
Organized in partnership with the Embassy of the United States, MUSEUMS TALK: FROM THE USA is intended to be a comprehensive program by lectures every month until Summer 2013.

Istanbul Modern Museum already had finished three organization. First organization was San Francisco Museum of Modern Art , Neal Benezra, Director,  presented on the history and future plans of the museum.  I missed this organization. Second organization was Guggenheim Museum, NYC , Laura Miller, Director of Marketing, discused how marketing practices at museums have evolved over the last few years. Third organization and latest one was Metropolitan Museums, Erin Coburn,  Chief Officer of Digital Media, explained about the use of digital media and new technologies to enhance the visitor experience. I have two reason to share this information with you. First I thank them to presented there knowledge with us clearly.  When we visit there web page’ s we can see all the information there, about artists and there works. Museums have been providing correct knowledge which is very important this time. If we visit digital media that can see a lot of information eventhough you don’ t know which one the correct for your observation of unknown works or artists eventhough I already known where I have to check. I just emphasize general problems for other people. Knowledge has to be democratic to reach easly. I prefer to observe museum’ s web page immediately first. One more think for the web page of museum, I wish to see architect information who is project this museum and photographs from internal and external views from museum that feel the atmosphere of the museum before visiting. This information is very important to explorer very creative person of museum who already had drawn the project.
Second reason to publish this news is Fahrelnissa Zeid' s painting and Tony Cragg' s sculpture of Ugly Faces 2006. Istanbul modern present this organization in front of the her painting of My Hell 1951. This sculpture and painting is very influential with this place. I would not want to express my own idea. Silent is more important than speaking sometimes. I prefer to read and publish professional people essay which have same opinion as myself or creative expression for the work that we can see backround and philosophy of the work and artist.
I will follow next organizations which take place in Istanbul Modern Museum every month until 2013 summer.
