SCREEN CAPTURES FROM THE VIDEO NEWS
NEWS
A semilogic analysis of news speaker's
facial movement in various news types.
People in their home follows the same facial movements of a single person at
the same time. These video and stills draw an alternative portrait of news
speakers according to their gestures in various news categories like politics,
economics, entertainment and sports.
Using the movement of head as a whole, eyes and mouth seperately for inputs of
visualization, it is an observation of a mass media technique for constructing
reality and also a semiotic exploration of facial movements.
This work has taken place in a group exhibition named "Lives and Works in
Istanbul" in October 2010. (Istanbul European Capital of Culture)

STATEMENT
ABOUT MY WORKS ON DEFORMATION OF BODILY FORMS
My work is about reconstructing and deforming the body by either altering the physical conditions in which the entity exists or treating it as a test subject for virtual experiments, while reshaping the systems we have and thus documenting the evolvement in time.
The form of the body, the organs, the skeletal and the muscular system we have in common is a result of the evolutionary process and the environment we are surrounded. We are surrounded by physical impacts like gravity, pressure or temperature in which we are already adapted. I am willing to observe and document the deformation in bodily forms while these forces are being altered as one method. As another method, which is close to physical abnormality conditions, I am trying to observe how the surface anatomy will react, resist and reshape while the inner systems (muscular, skeletal, tissue etc.) are behaving different than the way they are used to.
My endeavour is not only to document the physical changes but also to capture the emotions of the subjects.
