ESTABLISHED & SONS TORCH LIGHT 2008 DESIGN BY SYLVAIN WILLENZ
TORCH light is made from a flexible polymer with a matt grainy and tactile finish. The form of TORCH clearly refers to the the hand held nature of a common torch light, whilst also it owes certain elements to the typical car headlight. Light shines through a clear, diamond textured polycarbonate diffuser clipped inside the soft body.
The TORCH collection is available in various colourways, as floor, table and suspension lights in single versions or grouped suspension chandelier of 5, 10 or 20 units.

Why did you become a designer?
As a teenage I dreamed of doing something creative. I was drawing, painting and making stuff. At 17 I read a book on Philippe Stark: It struckme. This had to be my job. It was the time to put two interests together, making and drawing. My love for objects, shapes and things grew from there.
What inspires you?
Ttings around me; normal functional stuff and clever details, shapes and simple graphics. I usually find ideas start when it is most unlikely, when my brain is relaxed and not actually designing. Back in the studio I start putting elements together. Shape, details, colours, materials. On Sundays I g oto flee markets in Brussels, a great source of non – pretentious design inspiration.
